 Go ALL In! Get Baptized.

What is Baptism?

Baptism is a step in your spiritual journey of faith in Christ. Baptism does not make you a Christian. It is simply an obedient response and expression of your faith and commitment to Christ. Every example we see in the Bible demonstrates that first a person comes to believe in Christ, and then he or she is baptized as an expression of that belief.

In Romans 6:1-11 the apostle Paul explains how baptism by immersion identifies the believer with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Going underwater illustrates that death and burial, coming up out of the water illustrates His resurrection. When you come to faith in Christ, an inner change takes place. Baptism is the outward expression of the inward commitment you have made to Jesus Christ.

When should someone be Baptized?

A person should be baptized after they have trusted in Jesus for forgiveness of their sins.  Jesus tells us to make disciples and baptize - and we believe He meant it to be done in that order.  That’s also the pattern we see in the Bible in places like Acts 8:38. Since we want to be sure that a person being baptized fully understands their decision, we don’t baptize children under the age of 8. Depending on the child’s level of understanding, parents may want to encourage their kids to wait even longer until they’re mature enough to make the decision for themselves.

* At Shore Fellowship we are ready to baptize you as quick as the next weekend. No need to wait long! Use the form below to pick a weekend and service time you would like to get baptized after and we'll work to make that happen.

What if I was Baptized before?

If you were baptized as an infant or at any time before you trusted in Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, we encourage you to be baptized again. Feel free to contact us if you would like to discuss your situation further.

What Steps Should I Take to be Baptized?

Before being baptized, here are the steps you should take...

  1. Sign up to be baptized - Simply fill out the form below to sign up to be baptized in one of our worship experiences.  You will then receive a confirmation email with links to your next steps.
  2. Take our Back Stage Tour  - This tour explains what Shore Fellowship is all about and why we do what we do.  This is an important step to having you partner with Shore to "Connect the Love of Christ to the Heart of our Community." [You will get a link to sign up for this in an email after you sign up]
  3. Submit your Life Change Story - We want to know how you came to know Christ.  This step is important because it allows us to celebrate with you as you take this huge step of faith. Depending on how the Baptisms are being run we may ask for something additional like a video. [You will get a link to this form in an email after you sign up.]
