The stakes are high!

Posted by Stacia Stall on May 15, 2012 @ 3:47 PM

Your children will never be more impressionable than they are TODAY. If your kids are only 3 this is exceptionally true, but maybe they are 5 or 8, today is still the last day of them being exactly the impressionable age that they are. Most spiritual decisions and formations are made in kids by age 13. According to George Barna a lot of their spiritual outlook is even formed by age 9. This should invigorate you and make you realize that all the steps you're taking to pour into your kids is actually catching on whether you think so or not. However, this should also motivate you to realize what's at stake. If you choose baseball or soccer all spring long over attending church, what message are you sending them? If you're not really talking about God at home, you have to ask, are they really catching all they need to know about God in one hour a week at church? No one's perfect, but the job of parents is a big one, so don't delay remember what's at stake. The impressionable heart of your little one .... so tell them all about our awesome God, and what He means to you.

Camp is Just Around the Corner!

Posted by Stacia Stall on April 12, 2012 @ 6:18 PM

If it hasn't been on your mind already- it should be because summer is just around the corner!! And summer brings summer camp. Kids camp is a special time where our current 3rd and 4th graders get to take a few days away from their parents to 1.) Have the TIME OF THEIR LIVES and 2.) Grow closer to the Lord and build deeper spiritually driven relationships with their friends.

If your kiddos have never been to sleep away camp and you want more information,  then next Saturday and Sunday are FOR YOU! We are having an informational meeting after the 5:30 and 11:00 o'clock services to answer all your questions. Plan to be there, we promise your kids will THANK YOU!

Roots Matter

Posted by Stacia Stall on March 01, 2012 @ 12:57 PM

The heart of this month's virtue is about planting your roots deep into God's word. A hot topic for many books, blogs, and media in the church world today is about the growing number of young people that are walking away from the church. There is a lot of commentary on why this is happening, but I think at the heart of the matter- kids aren't owning their own faith. They aren't planting their roots deep. So, when they are "of age" to stand on their own two feet they fall over.  The Bible is the source of all truth in our Christian walk, and if our kids don't know God's word, or believe it to be true then trouble is on the horizon.

We know that life is busy. If you have kids, life can be CRAZY. But upon entering into parenthood, things shifted and now making sure that your kids come to KNOW and LOVE Jesus Christ is the #1 priority. More important than their spelling test or a clean room is that you help them grow deep roots. So, be intentional EVERYDAY. One Bible story everyday, or one devotional everyday, or one family prayer time everyday. They aren't going to "accidentally" grow roots. But with intentional parenting we can help our kids plant deep roots to stand on their own two feet (to own their own faith), even when you aren't close by to hold their hand any longer. We're here to help, just ask.
