Mission Statement
Shore Student Ministries exists to connect the love of Christ to the heart of youth.
It is our desire for every student who comes through our ministry to BELIEVE, BELONG, and BECOME. We want our youth to BELIEVE in the essentials of the Christianity and develop an authentic faith. We want to create an environment where students can be themselves and still be accepted. Our desire is that youth not only connect with their peers, but also feel like they BELONG to the church. Ultimately, we desire to see our students transformed; to BECOME more like Christ.
5 Purposes
Shore Student Ministries is intentional with everything we do. All of our programs and activities addresses one or more of the following five purposes: to REACH, CONNECT, GROW, DISCOVER, and HONOR. To REACH students with the love of Christ through our evangelistic and outreach efforts. To CONNECT students with other Christians by providing opportunities to fellowship and develop relationships. To encourage students to GROW stronger in their Christian faith through discipleship. To challenge young people to DISCOVER their life’s purpose through ministering to God and others. Finally, to teach students to HONOR God through a life of authentic worship.
Ministering on Purpose
We use the 5 purposes to walk with students on their spiritual journey at their own pace. Every student is at a different commitment level: Community, Crowd, Congregation, Committed, and Core. Community students are unchurched young people living in our neighborhoods. Crowd students attend church but are not involved and have no connection to other believers. Congregation students are those who attend church, are committed to a Life Group, and have Christian friends. Committed students are dedicated to spiritual habits and are growing in Christ. Core students are committed to doing ministry and serving as a result of their love for Christ. Our programs are intentional in bringing every student to the next level of commitment.
