One-On-One Discipleship
Mission Statement
One-on-one discipleship is intended for students to become more like Christ. Our goal is to follow Christ’s example and fulfill the great commission through the making of disciples. One-on-one discipleship is a commitment to sharing life with a student and teaching them to follow Christ through our example.
Job Essentials
-Meet with a student on a weekly basis
-Prepare and lead the student through a discipleship book
-Reach out to the student at least once throughout the week (Phone, Text, Email,
Facebook, postcard, etc.)
-Be available throughout the week for prayer, encouragement, and guidance
-Update the Youth Pastor monthly on the progress of the discipleship
-Discipleships start at 6 weeks, and can go up to a year
-Weekly time requirements: 1.5 - 3 hours
Costs
Disciplers are not responsible for the cost of the discipleship material.
Job Prerequisites
In order to insure the safety of our youth, we require all our VIP staff to have a background check (Forms can be filled out online at Shorefellowship.com under the Serve tab). One-on-one discipleship is our most intense ministry opportunity and therefore we require the most out of our disciplers. Anyone interested in being a one-on-one discipler should be a Shore Fellowship member in good standing. We ask that any discipler must first go through one-on-one discipleship themselves. *Must also fill out and sign VIP application
